heliostat
A nasty little prototype of a 1-bit mech combat game set on a space station in low solar orbit. For two players.
In heliostatic combat, it's critical to manage both structural damage and accumulated heat. While exposed to the sun, you'll gradually accumulate heat.
Player 1 (codename: "mario") is equipped with a directed energy weapon; the trigger must be held down until the weapon is fully charged before firing. WASD to move, mouse to look around, space to jump, shift to boost. Click to fire.
Player 2 (codename: "green mario") uses a standard-issue autocannon. Use the gamepad's left stick to move, right stick to look around, A to jump, X to boost. Right trigger to fire.

I like the monochromatic style. It's a little hard to see what's happening, but that feels more like a feature than a bug. Looking at your GDD it seems that's exactly what you were going for and I think you nailed it perfectly.
The jumping and boosting is cool. I couldn't get it to shoot, but your note says the web export broke some stuff, so I'll just assume that it was super epic.
I like the sun/heat mechanic. Hiding alchemical symbols throughout the HUD/UI is rad.
